a friend suggested i check out this little bitty duds site, and since i’m always hesitant when men suggest anything clothing-related-to-kids (have you seen the way most kids look when dads are in charge of drop off?*), i thoroughly scoped it out… and now i actually suggest you do too. it’s like old school hannah crossed with old school GAPkids**, color and designwise, plus a whole different playability (yes, darling, playability) that it makes equally modern and old school awesome.

they all look soft and comfortable. and like you could easily pair them with some cute mary janes and a cute ribbon and a nice little sweater and even dress them up.***

also, can you resist the cuteness? or the contrast stitching?
but easily the best part here was that for every portion of proceeds, they donate to kids charities:
Urban Munchkin is also something else. It’s a means to an end, a way of giving back! We feel strongly that any success we have should be shared with others not as fortunate. And so, we have committed to donate a portion from our collections to children centered charities that can be found in the “Charities” section of our website.
on the list: global action for children, so you know i’m obviously sold.
matthew, monster, prepare to get some presents.
* i recognize this is a terrible stereotype, but it’s pathetically true.
** like circa 1988, people. when i insisted on having matching shoes and shorts in every possible color from there and lauren gilbride and i spent the afternoon on the floor under a t shirt display while my poor mother graciously handled all of my color-centric pleadings.
*** perfect answer to previous situation. also, a good solution to the denim problem. i may be the last person alive who thinks 99 percent of all jeans should be tossed. but i say this, also, as someone with about 12 pairs of jeans she just can’t live without. your children don’t have to be like me. give them a chance to be more awesome. give them some urban munchkin style.
